At “Yamato Buddha Relic Pagoda Houtouji Temple,” a Buddhist temple nestled in Yoshino-cho, Nara Prefecture, we offer two unique temple-stay accommodations: “Shippozan Houtouji” and “Shukubo Houtouji Ren.” Staying with us is more than just a place to sleep — it’s a chance to experience authentic Japanese traditional culture. Surrounded by lush nature, enjoy peaceful, soul-soothing moments you’ll remember forever.

We have three cozy rooms: two Japanese-style tatami rooms (8-jō and 10-jō) and one Western-style single room. Connect the two tatami rooms for a spacious large-room perfect for families or groups.

Four comfortable rooms in total: one Japanese-Western mixed room and three Western-style rooms. One of the Western rooms features twin beds.
All the experiences listed below take place at “Yamato Buddha Relic Pagoda Houtouji Temple.” You can also enjoy meals at “Les Vagues,” the relaxed café on the ground floor of “Shippozan Houtouji” inside the temple grounds. We’re happy to provide a free shuttle (about 30 minutes on foot) to “Shukubo Houtouji Ren.”
